In the world after the collapse, everything is scarce—but one thing remains in abundance: the Ravunpiilottajat have each other, a loyal community that, despite its quarrels, is willing to sacrifice for one another.

Ravunpiilottajat navigate through their memories and the ruins of collapsed Scandinavia. When a passing stranger one day steals the sacred phone, a desperate and increasingly forgetful attempt begins to reclaim what still remains of Finnish culture. The memory-impaired Ravunpiilottajat search for the audacious thief of Finland’s entire cultural heritage among the ruins of Helsinki, desperately trying to hold on to their disintegrating memories.

The text is an absurd, poetic, and physical whole that uses dystopian science fiction to dive into an analysis of the present day and contemporary humanity. What if almost everything were destroyed, and the remaining Western cultural history depended on a single mobile phone and a group of performance artists suffering from memory disorders?

RapuRequiem is a multidisciplinary and layered work that does not preach or proclaim, but instead poses questions and makes observations. The piece leads the audience down a surreal dystopian world where there is no need to obey the conventions of performance art. This absurd work fuses theatre and circus arts into a single organic whole, as if formed by chance.
