Siret Lust & Sakari Männistö

Siret Lust is a London-based double bassist born in Tallinn, Estonia. Her musical journey started at 3 years old with piano and singing lessons before earning a place at Tallinn Music High School, originally studying the violin with Kaido Välja and later the double bass with Kaupo Olt.

 

In 2007 she moved to London on a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Rinat Ibragimov and Luis Cabrera. After completing her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees she was awarded the Guildhall Artist Fellowship for the following year.

 

Siret has participated in masterclasses with Joel Quarrington, Nabil Shehata, Edicson Ruiz, Jeff Bradetich, Roman Patkolo, Tim Cobb, Olivier Thiery, Pierre-Emmanuel de Maistre and others. While studying, she was part of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the European Union Youth Orchestra.

 

Siret works regularly with the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony and Concert Orchestras, various session orchestras and numerous chamber ensembles. She has freelanced regularly in Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands and appeared as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Pärnu City Orchestra, and the Haapsalu Festival Orchestra.

Sakari Männistö has been in over 50 contemporary circus productions as a performer,  director or production designer during his career. Männistö is a founding member of Agit-Cirk. He has also performed in Gandini Juggling (UK), Circo Aereo (FIN), Makeshift Company (UK) and Cirk La Putyka (CZ).
